All of Trump's lawyers eventually find themselves in a very uncomfortable position, and several of those lawyers are having their dirty deeds for Trump exposed in a disciplinary hearing this week in California. The hearing is about John Eastman, but a lawyer for former VP Mike Pence took a moment during the hearing to throw another Trump lawyer under the bus - Jenna Ellis. Ellis has already faced discipline in her home state and admitted to misrepresenting the election results, but this new info could cause further headaches in other states where she is licensed, as Farron Cousins explains
*This transcript was auto-generated. Please excuse any typos. So this was the first week of former Trump lawyer John Eastman's disciplinary hearing in California. Things got off to a bad start, as I mentioned earlier this week after his, uh, star witness who happens to just be an accountant, uh, was denied by the judge. But things got even weirder as the week has gone on, because one of the things that happened was that they actually pulled in Mike Pence's lawyer, the lawyer for the former vice president when he was vice president, who of course was president during Eastman, trying to convince Trump to convince Pence that he had the right to overturn the 2020 election results. This lawyer man by the name of Greg Jacob, told this disciplinary board that, yeah, I mean, Eastman did some things. We had this meeting on January 4th. All of us were in there. He presented these things, you know, and I, I presented them to Pence. You know, we all agreed they were unconstitutional. But then he goes even further because the lawyer for Mike Pence, even though another person, another Trump lawyer, is not involved in this hearing, this lawyer for Pence wanted to remind everybody that Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Listen. Yeah, okay. What Eastman did was bad, right? But let's not forget the other people who did the same thing. So for really no reason at all, Greg Jacob then threw former Trump lawyer, Jenna Ellis, totally under the bus. Didn't have to, didn't need to, wasn't relevant, but Mr. Jacob wanted to make sure that everybody in the state of California at that bar hearing knew that Jenna Ellis did pretty much the exact same thing. Here's what he said, it's from raw story. Jacob said in an earlier comment that Donald Trump's lawyer, Jenna Ellis, suggested that Pence could go to Congress on January 6th and simply refused to open the envelopes that contained the electoral college votes. Jacob called it clearly unconstitutional. The reporter said that he definitely said it in a what A moron way too. So outta nowhere, Mike Pence's lawyer decided to be like, yeah, okay. Eastman's bad. I get that. Totally. I agree with all y'all. Uh, let's not forget that Jenna Ellis is also a complete and total idiot. So thank you for your time. And I'm sure everybody at the bar hearing is like, well, I mean, okay, but we get it, but Jenna Ellis is not a part of this. You didn't have to throw her under the bus that hard, but, alright, here's the thing. Jenna Ellis, of course, admitted earlier this year that she did in fact misrepresent the results of the 2020 election in her, uh, legal filings. And she was censured in her home state of Colorado. But what's important about Mr. Jacob bringing up Jenna Ellis in California is that any state where Jenna Ellis, of course, is licensed to practice law, much like in Colorado, they could hold similar disciplinary hearings to what happened to Ellis earlier this year and what's happening to Eastman right now. So, just because these lawyers end up getting sanctioned or censured and sometimes disbarred in one state, doesn't mean that they can't practice law anymore. So that's why all of these other states where these individuals are licensed, cuz most lawyers are licensed in many states, they need to do the same thing. The fact that they're not is actually starting to trouble me now because Ellis has admitted this and I, I know Ellis is not only licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado. This lawyer from Mike Pence brought it up in California as kind of a way to be like, Hey, yeah, let's get all the bad guys, not just this one. So hopefully other bar associations across the country are taking note of this cuz it's not just Eastman and honestly, it's not just Ellis. There's a whole host of these lawyers that need to be punished, that needs to be sanctioned, that need to have these disciplinary hearings. And it's all 100% because they wanted to latch onto Donald Trump like Remora is on a shark because they thought they'd get the scraps and, oh, you're getting the scraps now. It's just not the ones you thought you'd be getting.
